This is a great case for the price! I bought it instead of paying $50 for the Griffin Survivor and am very pleased. It is a somewhat bulky case but worth the tradeoff for the layers of protection that this case provides. The ONLY downfall I experienced is that the hardshell case fits so snug around the phone that the protective shield on the front presses against the iPhone 4s screen and creates a funny looking "splotch" that is very noticeable when the screen is off. It does NOT, in ANY way, affect the touch screen capability. It's just a cosmetic flaw. SOLUTION: I detached the plastic shield from the case and flipped it over. The shield stays in place due to the notches on the inside of the case. Problem solved. I would still recommend this case and only gave it 4 stars due to the cosmetic flaw.

Purchased this case about 90 days ago as an inexpensive alternative for my failing Otterbox Defender. I can be very hard on rugged cases, as the phone sees a lot of use, drops, travel, etc. The rubber outer casing on the Otterbox had split in a few places and was becoming a pain, so I replaced it with this case.
First off, let me say that the plastics and rubber may feel a little cheap at first, but they have held up and worn very well. Surprisingly well for a case of this price... And that's pretty much where the praise for the case stops. It's a good case, but if you are a heavy user, you'll find the following flaws might drive you mad.
1. Oil slick spots on the screen. They can not be avoided. Take the phone out, clean everything, they reappear.
2. Headphone jack port: Cut too small. Works fine with iPhone headset, but is cut so small that it cannot be used with Etymotic headphones or a few different aux-in cables that I have for the car.
3. Silence switch cover: Good design, better than Otterbox Defender, except they didn't make it thick enough, so if it gets pressed it will fall deeper into the cavity and is difficult to get back out if you have short fingernails. Same problem with the headphone jack.
If you just need an inexpensive rugged case and can live with the oil slick effect on the built-in screen protector, this case may work fine for you. But with all the other little flaws in design, day to day heavy use can be a little frustrating.
